Outreach Programme
Sri Aurobindo Bal Mandir and Sri Aurobindo Sakti Centre is going to locations for teacher orientation programmes on their own as well as in tie up with similar organisations following the ideology of Sri Aurobindo and The Mother on Education – since education is the area of focus of this institution. Sri Aurobindo Bal Mandir has conducted teacher workshops and teacher orientation programmes focusing on the idea of Integral Education in North Bengal with school teachers at Siliguri, Naxalbari, Ambari and Batasi. Similar programmes have been held annually at schools in Howrah and Hooghly. The institution reaches out, becoming involved in the teaching community.
Orientation programmes covering areas like making learning interesting, use of art, drama, in day to day learning, use of digital medium according to their place and situation, etc. are also being conducted by teachers of Sri Aurobindo Bal Mandir for teachers from primary schools of two rural villages in the district of South 24-Parganas.
OUTREACH PROGRAMMES IN 2025 :
A three-day teacher training programme from May 29 to 31, 2025, was conducted at Sree Sarada Ashram, Gayeshpur, to for the educators of their non-formal educational initiative, Biler Pathshala, which functions as a non-formal coaching centre aimed at supporting grassroots education. The training sessions covered essential academic areas including syllabus framing, lesson planning, and effective classroom strategies. Additionally, a significant emphasis was placed on the philosophy of Integral Education, as envisioned by Sri Aurobindo and The Mother. The sessions highlighted practical ways to incorporate the principles of Integral Education into the daily curriculum, aiming to foster holistic growth — physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual — among students.
A team of teachers from Sri Sri Ramakrishna Sishutirtha Nursery Vidyamandir, Khejuri Block, East Midnapore district, participated in a three-day training programme at Sri Aurobindo Bal Mandir School from 28th to 30th August 2025. The training programme was planned and executed by Sri Aurobindo Bal Mandir. During their stay, they observed classes, interacted with our experienced teachers and the Principal and attended sessions introducing them to the educational vision of Sri Aurobindo and The Mother. Coinciding with their visit, they also had the opportunity to attend a parental interaction session held for the KG-II class. As part of their exposure and learning experience, the team was taken on a visit to the Indian Museum, Kolkata, where they explored various exhibits and gathered ideas to enrich their own teaching practices in their school.
