the Music & Dance Section
Sri Aurobindo saw music as a powerful spiritual energy that connects the human soul with the universe, uniting the earthly and the divine. He believed that genuine music draws lofty, celestial aspirations into the human heart, describing it as a direct, intuitive, and deeply subtle medium for experiencing the Infinite.
Believing in the importance of Music and other creative art forms like dance in the refinement of the vital, this Institution has a vibrant Music & Dance Section.
Here music classes are held for two instruments – Guitar and Synthesizer. Classes are held once a week for each of the mentioned music instruments. Interested learners can join in any of the present batches :
SATURDAYS : TWO BATCHES, BATCH 1 : from 5.00 p.m. – 6.00 p.m. ; BATCH 2 : from 6.00 p.m. to 7.00 p.m.
SUNDAYS : ONE BATCH from 9.30 a.m. – 10.30 a.m.
Vocal (Rabindrasangeet) classes are held on THURSDAY evenings in TWO BATCHES, BATCH 1 : from 5.00 p.m. – 6.00 p.m. ; BATCH 2 : from 6.00 p.m. to 7.00 p.m.
The Institution conducts Dance classes on forms Kathak, Rabindrik and Folk. Classes are held on Tuesday and Thursday evenings.
The students appear for annual diploma examinations from the stage Pre-primary I through a span of 11 years [ PP I – PP III, Primary, 1st year – 7th year]. Every year examinations are held around April and the new session begins after the examinations. Successful students are given diploma certificates and marksheets after each examination.
